Philadelphia Weddingbee Meetup at Silk City

When I was planning my wedding I was a BIG time reader of Weddingbee.com, so I was thrilled to hear that a Philly meetup was occurring for all the area readers and Bees. The location was Silk City, a diner that has been around for ages, however, with the addition of the Beer Garden and a snazzy take on traditional diner faves Silk City is one of the best spots in the city for brunch. We lounged outside chatting it up sipping Bloody Marys and mimosas. Though I am 9 months out from my wedding I still occasionally stop over to weddingbee and read the updates and post a comment here and there. For all of you newly engaged gals who haven't discovered weddingbee.com head on over and check it out. I swear that it is super helpful to any bride and also crazy addictive.

flamingred - she came looking so chic and stylish, very SATC

Bee readers will recognize this lady. It's Mrs. Cupcake!

Flamingred's bridesmaid came out too.

Bee reader danadelphia.

PS All photos taken with a 35mm lens, edited in Lightroom, sharpened with Pioneer Woman's action in PSE. If you want to see the other settings go over to my Flickr stream and click the properties link for the photo.

My Wedding Featured on The Fab Bride!!!!!!

My good friend Bola just launched a terrific new website geared towards Philly brides. In her own words TheFabBride.com is:

TheFabBride.com is an idea that Bola Onada Abodunde came up with to provide Philly brides with a resource that will help them learn who Philly's amazing and talented vendors are as well as inspire them with ideas for their own weddings. As a wedding photographer, the #1 complaint Bola received from brides was that there were no fun blogs out there solely dedicated to Philly brides and it was so hard to find the great vendors in the area. Being a bride-to-be herself she felt it was the perfect opportunity to put a resource together for all the Philly brides that shared the same frustrations and so TheFabBride was born!

I am so excited about her new endeavor and so happy that someone decided to fill the much needed gap here in the Philadelphia area bridal market.

And guess who is the first real wedding highlighted on the website : Moi - lil ole me!

Go over and check it out and all the great inspiration, info, and  wedding prettiness The Fab Bride has to offer.

I thought I would be able to do it

I was the girl that swore up and down before her wedding that she was not emotionally attached to her dress. That I could easily sell it in a heart beat after the big day. It was an easy way to recoup some of the wedding expense. What was the big deal, its not like I would ever wear it again. At least it could bring joy to someone else.

But here we are over 4 months out from the wedding and it is still here. I can't let go. I love Nora and don't want to part with her. Ever since we got back from our honeymoon she has been adorning my professional dress dummy in our bedroom. I take her off her little pedestal every couple of weeks and try her on and glide around the house. I thought I would take her to get professionally cleaned, I thought I would formally post her for sale on all the wedding boards, or send her over to a consignment shop but NOOOOOOO. She is still with us and I don't see her leaving anytime soon.

Has anyone else been reluctant to part with their wedding gown? Where is your gown now?

I just couldn't help myself ;(

I just couldn't help myself.

Even though we are 4 months out from our wedding I still bought the new issue of MS Weddings. I have successfully weened myself off wedding blogs (at the height I had over 60 subscriptions to wedding blogs in my reader) and I don't go to Weddingbee.com on a daily basis. However, I think I will be forever addicted to MS Wedding. It is wedding porn at its best and plus she has awesome crafts in it.

I think every girl at heart still loves to look at wedding stuff even after the big day.

Even though your wedding has past do you still look at wedding related stuff?
